Why three languages?

Did I want my kids to be trilingual so that they could get a great job in the future? NO! Japanese is a part of me, Chinese is a part of my husband, and English is another part of both of us, so we had to have all three languages.

  1. Hello,
I'm a Japanese mom with a 4 year-old boy, living in Seoul, South Korea. Just by searching for "trilingual" I got so far away from home to Silicon valley !!! Amazing! My son now speaks Japanese(my language) and Korean(daddy's language) and is working on English which is me and my husband's common language. Very challenging but fun!!! I'm so glad to be able to find somebody who is in the same boat for trilingual parenting! (Also, I miss the time I studied in the state of Montana back in 1990s. )

  2. Thanks so much for finding me and my blog! Even here in the U.S., it's extremely difficult to find multilingual families, and in fact, I haven't yet met any moms of trilingual children in person! Are you on Twitter at all?

  3. Not yet for Twitter. I'm surprisingly slow with new technology...shame on me!
